If You Build It…

If You Build It…

My new welding table is half way done. The plywood counter top will get a steel cover and a large bench vise. Soon the stuff in the cardboard boxes will be on wall shelfs. The new LE shop is nearing completion but paint and a new floor will have to wait till the off season.

I Like The Chicane!

I Like The Chicane!

I was too busy having fun this past weekend at PIR with 2Fast Motorcycle Track Days & Instruction and OMRRA to take photo’s so here’s a photo of my SV when I picked up up in 2020. It now has 4,240.02 miles. I skipped one of my 6 races because the track was wet. From a total of 5 races I took one 1st, two 4th’s, one 6th & one 7th. I moved out of the SS class because there was on one to battle with and moved into SB. Three Hole-Shots. This was my first time running the chicane, it’s just like braking into T1 at HRP so I had a lot of fun and made up a lot of time against the RS660’s and Kramer’s there. I really enjoy that floating feeling when the bike is dancing on the front end. My best lap was 1.25.37 and I backed that up with a 25.39. My Bridgestone Motorcycle USA tires now have 6 days on the front X and 4 days on the Y rear. Lots of people came to my pit to talk about Jim Lindemann and to check out my SV. Next up will be my first race at The Ridge in two weeks. You can find me and Lindemann Engineering at Gray Area KTM.

Found a Barber

Found a Barber

Wow! It’s only been a month since I moved. The big stuff was no problem but the small stuff like picking a new grocery store and finding a new barber are challenging. I started today with a good hair cut so one more thing on the list has a check mark. All this used wood will become two tables. One clean table/stand up desk and the other a stepped table for my drill presses and my belt sander. Progress.

Life, The Universe and Racing

Life, The Universe and Racing

They’re called “Universal Joints” but they don’t really hold the Universe together. This one and it’s partner at the front will get me to the track this weekend. Portland with OMRRA.

Pink Screw Driver

Pink Screw Driver

This pink Snap On ratchet screw driver may have been the first Snap On tool I ever bought. That was back in 1983 and I got it from Ruddy Stam the Snap On man. Snap On warrantied it for me because the gears slip a little. They don’t have pink anymore so I went with KTM orange because I work at Gray Area KTM now. I don’t remember how much I paid for that Snap On tool but it was well worth it.

Sounds So Good!

Sounds So Good!

My first event at The Ridge is in the book. 2 Fast Track Days runs a good program, I really like how they emphasize that the overtaking rider is responsible for making a clean pass and that they enforce their rules. I was tired on Monday but still went out for two sessions, on my 33 lap, I did 2.03.29 by myself, bettering my 2.03.39 following an instructor on a 600 Sunday. Give me 50 more laps and I’ll have this challenging and fun track dialed. My SV650 with it’s M4 Exhaust sounds so good in the cool dense PNW air! I’m on my way home to Gray Area KTM.
