Branching Out

Branching Out

It’s time to add a Race Car Department to Lindemann Engineering. I’m looking for shop space in the Coachella Valley. If you have a Project Car Build, I’ll discount my labor rate in exchange for a nice deposit.

Coaching Report

Coaching Report

After a full day of Coaching & Crew Chief work, this guy took 4 seconds off his PB.  Loading up is easier after a successful day.  A big part of that improvement came after I took his bike for a lap and recommended a number of ergonomic changes.

DIY RV

DIY RV

I’ve been helping with a DIY RV build. Turning a Sprinter Van into a RV. I did a little welding to install a LP tank underneath. A bunch of wiring for the Shore Power, Power from the engine alternator and Solar Power. The photo’s are of the awning and the solar panels and WiFi antenna on the roof. All the stuff I learned from my ’76 Dodge RV and the 323,580 miles on my Ford RV are paying off.

Another Championship

Another Championship

While I was busy earning another $500 from Suzuki on my SV650 this weekend @ Buttonwillow with WERA, I picked up my 2019 Championship Plaque earned with my 1988 CBR600F1 that has already been sold to Kent. Yet more proof that he got a good bike.

What’s In A Shock Shaft?

What’s In A Shock Shaft?

On the right is the base with rebound adjuster knob. The shaft is on the top. Notice the hole just bellow the shoulder. Inside the shaft is a rod to move the needle, the rebound needle and the check valve. Oil passes the needle by flowing into the shaft through the hole below the shoulder, past the needle and out the check valve. The piston with compression and rebound stacks rest on the shoulder.

Seven Years

Seven Years

He last raced seven years ago. He hired me to Crew Chief his first track day on this new bike. The day went well and the bike is here for suspension improvements but it has to be clean to get in the door.

Two Races = Two Wins

Two Races = Two Wins

Suzuki pays $500 to win Lightweight Twins SS. When I learned this I canceled my plans to build a Naked Superbike and went with a Naked SS bike. This is how bikes looked when I started racing, I grew up riding steel framed bikes with Superbike Bars so I feel good on this, the 81st different motorcycle I’ve raced.

This weekend I determined that the lack of body work streamlining is hurting me more than the lack of power in Lightweight Superbike and F-2. So the next step is to read the rules to see if I can add a GPz550 style fork mounted headlight cover/windscreen.

So far I’ve earned $2,250 from Suzuki. The $250 is from a second place finish when I learned that 5 days of racing was 1/2 day too many for the rear tire.
