WERA @ Miller

I’ll be at the WERA races this weekend at Miller Motorspors Park. On Saturday I’m riding with Team Chicago in the 6 hour. I’m free on Sunday for crew chief work.

Liko’s Race

Liko did well at Infineon. Race one on Saturday started with lots of bumping and getting bounced off track as part of the big turn two crash. 33rd on the re-start Liko fought back to 23rd at the finish. After Sundays race we had ice-cream because Liko took 19th. Look for a good result from this weekends AFM races when Liko puts his new set up to good use with the tires he knows.

Infineon AMA Race

Instead of working for the AMA at Infineon this weekend I’ll be crew chief for Liko Miles. Liko is a privateer who started racing in Hawaii. Liko races a GSXR600 in Daytona Sportbike, his race number is 193 and the team name is Miles Ahead Racing. Come find us in the pits and check out my Mega Max/CMS system in action.

Road America USGPRU

We had good weather and great racing at Road America! Riders Angus and Adam, the two A’s said the cylinders I ported made more and better power than the Yamaha Kit cylinders. Adam went two for two with another win but this time he had to fight all the way for it, pulling out a 2.29 last lap to take the win with a last turn pass. Team mates Mike and Jim took 6th and 7th. Angus was 7th and having a blast when a hose clamp broke dumping the water into the catch fairing and killing the engine. He was credited with 12th.

Young, Ben Young was back with RAT Racing after recovering from his big pre-season testing crash. His Dad, Scott showed his determination by working all weekend to find and fix all the bugs in Ben’s new bike. Working out these bugs resulted in a poor grid spot for Ben but a good fight as he battled his way to a strong 4th place in the 125 race.

You can find me next working for AMA Pro Racing at the Infineon race May 15th to 17th.

My next trip

My next event will be the USGPRU East race at Road America, May 1st to 3rd. From there I’ll head to Buffalo for a gig on the 5th then back west on I-80 to Infineon for the AMA race May 15th to 17th. If you are near my route we can hit a track day or race and save on travel costs. As of now I am available for the WERA event at Miller, May 23rd to 24th. Also for the WSB event at Miller, May 29th to 31st. And any events in between.

USGPRU @ Jennings GP

The USGPRU 250 GP race at Jennings GP went well. RAT riders took 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th. Adam Roberts, RAT’s fastest rider was fastest in practice, Q’ed on pole and lead the race from start to finish. I met the new owner of my ’93 TZ when his Dad asked for advice, small world.

I have some work to do here at my shop on customer bikes and to my RV and trailer. I’ll be at Willow Springs next weekend for the WSMC races taking care of John Ulrich and his TZ then on to Road America for round two of USGPRU East with RAT Racing.

April plans

The AMA race at Auto Club Speedway went well, I work as an official for AMA Pro Roadracing.
My next event is the USGPRU event at Jennings GP on April 3rd to 5th. I’ll be working with RAT Racing.

Back from Daytona

“The sun is rize, the sun is set, here I am in Texas yet!” The long drive home from Daytona was made longer by a stop on the side of the road in Texas so the police could search my rig for drugs. Lots of trick motorcycle stuff but no drugs.
I’ll be at Auto Club Speedway for the AMA race next weekend. Then I’ll be back at Jennings GP, April 4-5 for round one of the USGPRU East Series.

Congratulations Wisconsin Racing!

Calvin Martinez teamed with Jeff Purk and entered the AMA Pro Sun Trust Moto GT race at Daytona as Wisconsin Racing. They went faster throughout the race, stuck to their plan and won their first AMA Pro race. Congratulations Wisconsin Racing!

Daytona Update – Alex Lazo – AMA SuperSport Race

In the AMA SuperSport Class on the Daytona short course Alex dropped five seconds off his lap times. Alex qualified 17th and at the end of the first lap he was in 16th place. Throughout the race he moved forward and at the end of Alex’s first AMA SuperSport race, he finished 11th. Congratulations Alex!
